Description
Issue 3 of our literary magazine featuring prose, poetry, and art on the theme of ‘Scorching’.
Editor’s Introduction:
When I chose this theme, we were in the midst of the UK’s worst heatwave, in 2022. I anticipated 2023 would follow suit and you would be reading this yellow-dominant issue in the sun, but life rarely goes to plan. Instead, I hope issue three will be the warmth you seek in the cold.
As before, you’ll find these pages filled with poetry, fiction, and artwork. Our main story, by James Marshall, far exceeds our word limit for individual fiction pieces, but it fills me with such warmth and imagination that I couldn’t pass it up. If you love genies and sand, you’ll love this story.
From our artists, you’ll see different styles which elicit different moods highlighting the variety of our interpretations of the same theme.
For our interview, I am honoured to bring you insight into the publishing process by debut author, Selassie Agroh. Novel writers, this one’s for you!
Finally, our issue four theme is: ‘If I Could Go Back’. Although, here’s a little challenge for you … don’t use the words if I could go back. Simply write a piece that ‘shows’ the theme.
That’s the end of my rambling. I hope to see you in the next issue – warm reading!
